We are so fortunate to be a part of the City of Chestermere this time of year. The city has so many ways to keep busy, celebrate the holidays and still stay safe and socially distanced. While this season some celebrations may look a little different, consider all of these great options when you’re feeling festive:
Light the Lake: You can nominate yourself or your favourite house to win prizes from this year’s Light the Lake campaign. They’ve built a Google map featuring all of the nominated homes, so download the map and head out into your neighbourhood to see all of the homes that are lit up for the season. Macaroni Kid and the RockyView Chestermere Agricultural Society are sponsoring this event.
Ice Skating in Chestermere:
In addition to the famous rinks on Chestermere Lake, the city also maintains a public rink even closer to home in Kinniburgh South at 220 Sandpiper Crescent. All of the details on openings and current conditions of all of the city’s skating rinks can be found on the city’s website.
Ice fishing and snowmobiling/ATVing:
While our lake is a great spot for boating and fishing in the summer months, winter provides a different set of option for getting out on the ice! Always make sure you check the posted ice depths before heading out.
Walking and biking paths in Chestermere:
The city maintains an extensive pathway system that connects Kinniburgh South to other communities. Enjoy a stroll with a friend on a sunny day along the canals, around the lake, or along the 3km Kinniburgh Trail. Your four-legged friend will enjoy the off-leash area along the northwest side of Chestermere Lake.
Are you ready to make the move to our family-friendly community in south east Chestermere? There are a number of new houses for sale in Chestermere’s Kinniburgh South development.
