In the Summer, we tend to spend a lot of time outside. We want to make sure the garden is easy on the eyes! Keep it looking fresh and lush throughout the season with these tips.

Pull Weeds Right Away

Weeds steal nutrients and water from the plants. Weeds are easiest to pull when they are small. When the soil is moist, it is a lot easier to pull the weeds.

Watering Plants Properly

Did you know that water sitting on the leaves can lead to disease? Try to water directly to the ground rather than watering the foliage. A soaker hose is a great way to make sure plants are being watered correctly. They are sold at any home and garden supply store.

Don’t Scalp Your Lawn

Let your grass grow and set your mower to a higher height. Scalping occurs when the mower is on the lowest height. With each mowing, remove no more than one-third of the grass. Taller grass will dominate weeds so you will have less of them. This means less work for you down the road!

Use these tips to make sure your garden flourish this Summer. You’ll love spending time in the yard!
